Brixton Street Gym was built on a foundation of accessibility and affordability – but has the kit and classes to rival any boutique. The gym was founded by fitness coach and author Terroll Lewis, who, after serving time in prison, found himself unable to sign up at a high-street gym without a bank account. Originally founding the Block Workout Foundation before being offered a space to host a fitness facility by Lambeth Council.

A volunteer-run fitness hub, Brixton Street Gym is on a mission to build social connections, not just muscle. BSG is a charity-run fitness space with an impressively stocked outdoor yard and classes ranging from Circuit Classes , Mother and Baby Classes , Muay Thai , Free Kids Community sessions and so much more.

Along with providing friendly gym facilities, we are also a safe space for the community, working to help build the minds, ambition and confidence of our younger clients, many of whom are disadvantaged and marganalised young people facing adversity and at risk of youth violence on the fringes of crime . Our team works closely with these young people, mentoring and supporting them, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and steering them away from the streets as well as offering them funded training in order to pursue a career in the fitness industry.  The Block Workout Foundation focuses on giving at risk, marginalised and disadvantaged individuals an outlet through sports and fitness.

Our vision at the BSG is to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all individuals to improve their physical and mental well-being . We strive to be a hub for fitness, health education, and social interaction, fostering a sense of community and family like belonging.

Our goal is to inspire and empower individuals of all ages and abilities to achieve their fitness goals and lead healthy and fulfilling lives. We envision a community where everyone has access to affordable and high-quality fitness facilities, programs, and resources, regardless of their background or socioeconomic status.

We are committed to promoting wellness, inclusivity, and diversity in all aspects of our gym, creating a positive impact on the physical and emotional health of our members and the wider community.
